Thank you for your interest in our Arbitrator Certification process. You must be an intercompany arbitrator to participate in Arbitration Forums' certification program. If you are not currently a volunteer arbitrator and interested in becoming one, go to http://www.arbfile.org and read How Do I Become an Arbitrator under the Arbitrators dropdown menu.

There are three components to all of AF's certification programs:

1. Forum Exam - 25 multiple-choice question exam on the applicable forum's Agreement and Rules. Successful completion of this portion requires a score of 80 or better.

2. Claims Knowledge Exam - 25 multiple-choice questions on general claims principles related to the selected forum or track (Auto Liability or General Liability). Successful completion of this portion requires a score of 70 or better.

3. Hearing Simulations - 3 cases that you will review and render decisions. Successful completion of this portion requires a score of 70 or better.

Certification is required for all arbitrators who hear Special, Property, and/or Uninsured Motorists Arbitration cases. All other certification programs are voluntary.

Following your successful completion of the above three components in your chosen certification track*, you will receive the following designation:

· Auto Forum = Certified Auto Subrogation Arbitrator (CASA)

· Property Forum = Certified Property Subrogation Arbitrator (CPSA)

· Special AL = Certified Special Arbitrator Auto Liability (CSAA)

· Special GL = Certified Special Arbitrator General Liability (CSAG)

· Special CD = Certified Special Arbitrator Construction Defect (CSAC)

· PIP = Certified PIP Subrogation Arbitrator (CISA)

· UM = Certified Uninsured Motorist Arbitrator (CUMA)
